• August 2 is "Friendship Day," a day to celebrate our friends..
• August 2 is also "American Family Day" when families can enjoy special activities together.
• August 4 is "National Night Out," a community event that provides a great opportunity to bring police and residents together under positive circumstances. Check your local precinct (103 Pct. for J1/J2 or 113 Pct. for Sutphin) to find an event in your neighborhood.
• "National Relaxation Day," on August 15, encourages us to slow down and unwind. It is a day to focus on taking care of ourselves and take a moment to relax, now more than ever.
• August 21 is "National Senior Citizens Day," a day to support, honor and show appreciation to the seniors in our lives and to recognize their achievements.
• Become an active parent/guardian/caregiver!!! Get involved in all of the meetings, trainings and activities that CECD Head Start has to offer. Check your site calendar for specific meetings, activities and events.
• Stay in touch with your Family Assistant. and ask about becoming a classroom volunteer.

 Announcements/Dates to Remember

• School is closed for summer break from August 3 - August 14.

• School is closed for Staff Development/Opening Procedures on August 17 - August 21.

• School reopens for children on August 24. (J2 children will be at the J1 site this week.)

• School is closed for Staff Development and Opening Procedures on August 31 and September 1.

September

• Virtual Parent Orientation will take place on September 2.

• Transition Days will take place on September 3 and September 4. Your child will be in school for 2 hours on these days (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM or 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM).

• School will be closed for Labor Day on September 7. Regular hours will start on September 8.
  

• Please make sure your child has a full set of extra clothes at all time (clothes that are appropriate for the warmer weather).

• Arrival time is 8:15 AM. Dismissal time is 3:15-3:30 PM.
