  • March is "National women's History Month," "National Nutrition Month" and "National Reading Month."
  • March 2 is the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss."
  • "I Want You to be Happy Day" is celebrated on March 3.
  • March 8 is "International Women's Day."
  • "Plant a Flower Day" falls on March 12.
  • "St. Patrick's Day" is celebrated on March 17.
  • The first day of spring is March 20.
  • Daylight Savings Time goes into effect on March 8. Turn your clocks ahead one hour (and don't forget to change the batteries in your smoke/carbon monoxide detectors.
  • The Creative Curriculum themes for March are "Light" for the 2-year-olds and "Clothes" for the 3s and 4s. The CECD theme for all children is "Weather."
  • Don't forget to sign up for a parent-teacher conference in March.
  • Become an active parent/guardian/caregiver!!! Get involved in all of the meetings, trainings and activities that CECD Head Start has to offer. Check your site calendar for specific meetings, activities and events.
  • Check your site's calendar for monthly consultant visits (Health, Mental Health and Nutrition).
  • Stay in touch with your Family Assistant. and ask about becoming a classroom volunteer.
  • Please note that we follow the NYC DOE schedule regarding school closings/remote learning due to inclement weather.
