• October is "Head Start Awareness Month." This year marks 60 years of providing comprehensive early childhood education and support to children and families. across the United States.
• October is "Fire Safety Month.," a national observance held to raise awareness about fire safety and prevention in homes and businesses (including schools). 
• Become an active parent/guardian/caregiver.!!! Get involved in all of the meetings, trainings and activities that CECD Head Start has to offer. Check your site calendar for specific meetings, activities and events.
• Stay in touch with your Family Assistant. and ask about becoming a classroom volunteer.

• October 6 commemorates "National Child Health Day," a day to show our support of children's health, family, and those that work hard to help them.
• Virtual Classroom Elections will take place October 7 - October 10. Please check your site calendar for exact dates and times.
• National Fire Prevention Week:
• School will be closed on October 13 to observe Columbus Day.
• October 25 is "Make a Difference Day," a day when individuals, families, and organizations are encouraged to participate in community service projects like park cleanups, supporting charities, or helping seniors.
