• Many holidays are celebrated in December.
• National Handwashing Awareness Week is observed from December 1st - December 7th. Let's continue to practice good handwashing habits.
• The Creative Curriculum themes for December are "Paper" for the 2-year-olds and "Boxes" for the 3s and 4s. The CECD theme for all children is "Holiday Customs.
• Become an active parent/guardian/caregiver.!!! Get involved in all of the meetings, trainings and activities that CECD Head Start has to offer. Check your site calendar for specific meetings, activities and events.
• Check your site's calendar for monthly consultant visits (Health, Mental Health and Nutrition).
• Stay in touch with your Family Assistant. and ask about becoming a classroom volunteer.
• Enjoy this special time of year, no matter what special day or days you celebrate with your family and friends.

• Department of Education Kindergarten Registration begins on December 9. Your Family Assistant can help with the process.
• Classroom Holiday Parties will take place on December 22
• December 23: Early Dismissal at 11:30 AM.
• School will be closed from December 24 - January 1 for Winter Break and on January 2 for Staff Development. The children will return on January 5.
