- June is "National Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Month." It is also "National Dairy Month." It celebrates the health benefits of produce and encourages Americans to increase their daily intake of fruits and vegetables.
- June is also "National Dairy Month," a time to recognize the dairy farm families and communities that help bring nutritious dairy foods to our tables.
- June 14 is "National Children's Day," a day dedicated to honoring children, focusing on their well-being, and spending quality family time together.
- June 14 is also "Flag Day." This day commemorates the adoption of the American flag. It is celebrated to honor the history, heritage, and symbolic meaning of the "Stars and Stripes."
- "Juneteenth" is observed on June 19. This day commemorates the day African Americans were declared "free" in 1865.
- "Father's Day," June 21, we honor all male caregivers.
- The first day of summer is June 21. It is also the longest day of the year.
- The Creative Curriculum themes for May are "Balls" for the 2-year-olds and "Music Making" for the 3s and 4s. The CECD theme for all children is "Summer."
- Become an active parent/guardian/caregiver!!! Get involved in all of the meetings, trainings and activities that CECD Head Start has to offer. Check your site calendar for specific meetings, activities and events.
- Check your site's calendar for monthly consultant visits (Health, Mental Health and Nutrition).
- Stay in touch with your Family Assistant. and ask about becoming a classroom volunteer.

- Please make sure your child has a full set of extra clothes at all time (clothes that are appropriate for the warmer weather).
- Arrival time is 8:15 AM. Dismissal time is 3:15-3:30 PM
